Prove The power of positive thinking through the Alvin Law Experience!
Alvin is a unique individual because he is able to connect with students and staff. He grabs your attention right away with his feet (because he has no arms). He is one of the best speakers in Canada for school audiences.
In 1981, Alvin Law officially started speaking to schools and organizations throughout Canada. Unofficially, he started his speaking career as a young child when he was encouraged by his parents to explain to others “what happened to you?” Today Alvin is one of Canada’s most highly-sought after inspirational speakers and travels throughout Canada, the US and around the world.
To say Alvin Law is disabled wouldn’t offend him or be inaccurate; after all he was born without arms due to the infamous morning sickness drug, Thalidomide. Today, he is completely independent and most often is described as “amazing”, as opposed to “disabled”. People often assume his program must be yet another example of a “Handicapped Speaker”. These kinds of perceptions and labels have actually been Alvin’s biggest obstacles. If you consider he was born this way, perhaps you can also consider he was born completely “normal”…to him!

Motivation: Your Moment of Truth
Georgette Reed’s presentations are genuinely golden. Her enthusiasm and optimism shine through her keynote addresses and seminars as she shares the positive lessons, values and virtues of sport. Through relevant and, sometimes humorous, anecdotes she will demonstrate and bring to life how the trials and tribulations in her sporting life have enabled her to assess and face risks and convert them into powerful life-changing moments. It’s how Georgette deals with the challenges of everyday life. “The real value of sport is not the actual game played in the limelight of the applause but the dogged determination and the Georgette has that kind of exacting conscious. She demonstrated it when she was the number one shot put and discus thrower in Canada for over a decade and she possesses it still today.
Georgette’s presentation focuses on empowering yourself to be the master of your own destiny. Your Moment of Truth can be any event good or bad, positive or negative when a crucial decision needs to made. Convert Your Moment of Truth into a turning point, when you seize the day, ask the big questions, and make a commitment to transform that moment into an opportunity for altering your own destiny and the destiny of your community. These moments occur more often than we think. Georgette teaches us how to recognize them and that it’s not the time to be immobilized by them. On the contrary, it’s time to capitalize on them.
