CSLC is Canada’s longest running national student leadership conference and is exclusive for CSLA member schools
Imagine 750 students and 250 leadership advisors gathering in an action-packed five days to learn leadership skills and activities, make new connections with peers across the country, exchange ideas and have fun!
CSLC 2019 is being hosted by Abbotsford Public School Board in Abbotsford, BC. Throughout the conference, students will attend a series of workshops to further develop their leadership skills, build confidence, and discover new ideas to help them make difference in their own schools and communities. From workshops on school climate, to personal growth, to student council democratic initiatives, delegates choose which sessions appeal most to them. In addition to those sessions, the CSLC program includes spirit groups, cultural moments, community outreach, and special events. Students will also be billeted with families in the host community. Their time with their billet families enables them to experience the culture and heritage of the host school’s community first-hand, and allows them to become part of that community for a few days.
While students attend their own sessions, advisors attend the Advisor Summit at CSLC for their own professional development workshops. CSLC offers advisor workshops led by professional speakers, industry professionals, and experienced leadership advisors from across the country. Included in CSLC’s advisor sessions is the CSLA’s Leadership Advisor Development and Certification program, which is free to advisors at member schools. In addition to PD, advisors also have the opportunity to network and collaborate with fellow leadership and activity advisors from across the country.
